The Monkey 47 Barrel Cut gin was recently launched in Malaysia (only 300 bottles available locally!) - it is Monkey 47's first barrel-aged gin, aged in Mulberry cask.
The barrels are hand made by traditional coopers from Palatinate, Germany (known as one of the largest wine growing regions in Germany) and are lightly toasted on the inside before the Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin is aged in it for 180 days stored in a granary that was built back in 1840. The rare wood of the mulberry is one the most fragrant woods - it yields a deep golden yellow and a hint of subtle sweetness during maturation.
