Rémy Cointreau recently launched the first of the brand’s permanent high age statement whisky range: The Bruichladdich Eighteen.
The bottle features a sustainable outer wrap designed in collaboration with global creative partner, Thirst, and is brought to life by James Cropper, a UK based luxury packaging specialist.
The eco-friendly outer packaging is made from fully recyclable paper pulp and is moulded to the shape of the glass bottle. It is completely plastic free and is said to be produced using 100% green energy.
Bottled at 50% ABV, it is matured exclusively on Islay primarily in ex-Bourbon casks and a small number of wine casks.
Official tasting notes:
Nose: Ripe peach and honeysuckle, hints of violet and lavender, balanced with vanilla and creamed coconut from the toasted American oak. A medley of tropical fruit comes to the fore, with melon, peaches, apricots, and vibrant citrus, while the influence of the oak brings honey, caramel vanilla custard and rich crème brûlée.
Palate: Honey, butterscotch and fresh fruits coat the palate, followed by cereal notes of sweet, syrup soaked porridge, barley sugar and toasted oak. Vibrant tropical fruit and the subtle presence of toasted oak with a hint of leather follow, with honeycomb adding to the smooth, sweet character.
Finish: Classic minerality for which Bruichladdich is renowned, perfectly balanced with oak, stoned fruit and a delicate floral bouquet.
The Bruichladdich Eighteen can be purchased at The Chamber (The Starhill, Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Sunway Pyramid), Kedai Ubat Dan Runcit Yong Xin, Fook Cheong Seafoods and Medical Trading & other retail stores nationwide.
